WATER/SEWER INFORMATION
THE VILLAGE WATER TOWER IS 140 FEET HIGH AND HOLDS 100,000 GALLONS OF WATER. THE PIPE LEAVING THE WATER TOWER IS 8 INCHES. THE VILLAGE CLEARWELL CAPACITY IS 40,000 GALLONS. THE VILLAGE WELLS ARE OVER 600 FEET DEEP AND ARE LOCATED JUST SOUTH OF NEW MILLENNIUM, ACROSS THE RAILROAD TRACKS & NORTH OF SR 613. THE WELLS ARE IN AN AQUIFER (water rich zone) THAT SUPPLIES WATER TO THE VILLAGE. THE WELLS HAVE A LOW SUSCEPTIBILITY TO CONTAMINATION. THIS DETERMINATION IS BASED ON, THE PRESENCE OF A THICK PROTECTIVE LAYER OF CLAY OVERLAYING THE AQUIFER. ALSO, THE SIGNIFICANT DEPTH OF OVER 600 FEET BELOW GROUND SURFACE OF THE AQUIFER. THE WATER IS TREATED BY FILTRATION & DISINFECTION, WHICH INVOLVES THE ADDITION OF CHLORINE OR OTHER DISINFECTANTS TO KILL BACTERIA. THIS IS ALL PERFORMED PRIOR TO ARRIVING AT YOUR HOME OR BUSINESS. THE VILLAGE WATER PUMPS-180 GPM OF WATER WITH ONE PUMP.
THE SEWER PUMPS 180,000 GALLONS PER DAY. OUR SEWER LINE SIZES–ARE 6 TO 8 INCHES, DEPENDING ON THE LOCATION. THE SEWER LIFT STATIONS ARE LOCATED AT SOUTH 4TH ST., W. GROVE, LAKELAND, NEW MILLENNIUM AND ALSO AT THE OLD SEWER PLANT.
WE HAVE A LAGOON SYSTEM FOR SEWER DISCHARGE. The lagoon was completed in the spring of 2014.
